Happy Halloween!

I love Halloween! There's something about it that makes my heart speed up with a combination of excitement, fear, and the inevitable sugar rush from too much free candy.

But there's more to the excitement than eating bags full of candy that were supposed to be for the trick-or-treaters. As Buffy the Vampire Slayer once said, "It's come as you aren't night." The one night of the year when you can completely let go. Sure, some people use it as an excuse to dress in short skirts and low shirts (nothing wrong with that). But more than just the sexy costumes, Halloween is a time when you can be anyone and anything you want to be. Always dreamed of being a pirate? You are not alone! Thought Princess Leah was the end all be all? For this one night, you can be her. It's a time to be free, and let go.

When I was little, I used to love playing dress up. Now, I only get to do it once a year, so I make sure to take the time to appreciate the day.

Happy Halloween Everyone!

What's Up Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Okay, I know what you're thinking. It's been ages since I've post on the blog. It's been a rocky year, but there has been workings behind the scene. So to get everyone up to date, I thought I would create a "What's Up Wednesday" feature on my blog (hopefully to be maintained weekly, but may end up being biweekly if there is not much happening weekly).

Before I get started, let me just mention that next Monday I will be holding my first of three giveaways of autographed books from some of my favorite authors. Next Monday will be Sweet Filthy Boy by the amazing romance writing duo Christina Lauren. I met these two ladies at Comic Con, and was amazed at how humble and hilarious they were. Be sure to come back then for more about them, their books, and to enter the giveaway which will be running all next week.

Now on to the good stuff!

Brink of Passion, the next installment in the Alpine Woods Shifters series featuring Laurie and Max, is complete and has been submitted to my publisher. I do not have a release date yet, but as soon as I know, I'll be sure to post it everywhere. For now, here's the *working* blub for Brink of Passion:

He’d do anything to protect his mate.
Laurie doesn't know what to think when she meets her mate at the shifter convention she'd reluctantly attended with her brother. Especially after discovering he's a cat shifter of the leopard variety. Wolves and leopards didn't typically mix. Mating him means leaving her family, her town, and the only home she's ever known. But the possibility of a happily ever after is worth the risk, right?

Max couldn't be happier with his brazen, feisty wolf, but returning home isn't the welcoming affair he'd expected. In his absence, his brother was attacked and warns him that he might be next. when the fears prove true and he's shot at while hunting with Laurie, his protective instinct goes into overdrive. Can he convince his mate to stay with him and protect her at the same time?

Saturday, I'll be posting a short excerpt, so be sure to check it out!
