Happy Saturday, everyone! Hope everyone is getting a chance to unwind from the week. I've spent a bit of time updating my blog today. There's a couple new pages at the top, including a "series info." page where you can find a family tree of the Callahan family (from the Alpine Woods Shifters series). I've also just created a page on The Romance Reviews site. I'm still very new and haven't gotten my author page cleared yet but if welcome everyone to check it out! I put images to all my different accounts on the sidebar (facebook, twitter, goodreads, TRR). Clicking on the image *should* take you directly to my page, but let me know if you end up somewhere random and I'll get it straightened out.

A Personal Milestone!
Ever since Arctic Winds was released, I've been a bit well.... obsessed....with checking my Amazon ranking. So on my way to bed last night I decided to check it one last time and imagine my surprise when I hit a personal milestone. I was number 97 on the Fantasy, Futuristic, and Ghost Romance sub genre kindle bestseller list!! Okay, yes this is four subcategories away from the real list and it doesn't mean I was even remotely close to the top 100 but its a start! I literally squealed out loud! I was and am so excited! And yes.... I am dorky enough to take a screenshot with my iphone. So, that's been the highlight of my week. This weekend I'm looking forward to catching up on work (I'm a little behind because I got sick this week), finishing the book I'm reading, and watching the Oscars on Sunday. I love looking at all the different dresses and I definitely have actors I'm rooting for. My all time favorite, Christian Bale, is up for supporting actor and my fingers are crossed!

Madly in Love Monday 2/21
Today's selection is a series of novellas (although the later books in the series are full length) that are funny, light reads. I'm talking about the Halle Pumas series by Dana Marie Bell.
Dana Marie Bell has a great ability to create likable unique characters readers want to cheer for. These stories are just fun reads that you can't help but love.

Interview with Lisa Sanchez
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Before we get started, if you're looking for my Show Me The Love Blogfest entry, you can find it HERE.
Today is a special day. I have the honor of interviewing fellow romance author Lisa Sanchez.
Lisa, Why don’t you start us off by telling us a little about your latest release.
Sure thing! Pleasures Untold is the story of a young witch, Martha Stewart aka Ainsley Campbell, who is on the hunt for the vamp who murdered her mother and grandmother. Magically disguised to stay hidden from her enemy, she’s single-handedly ridding Hanaford Park of its demon and vamp population in the hopes she’ll eventually come across the dirtbag who murdered her family members. Her mission is clear, well…it’s clear until she crosses paths with Xan, a hybrid vamp who’s sworn to protect her. Things that were once very black and white for Martha become muddled, and she’s forced to rethink everything she thinks she knows.
Is there anything else you’re working on now? Any new releases on the horizon?
I’m currently working on book three in my Hanaford Park series, tentatively titled The Witching Hour. I’ve got about 20k left to write and am working on it whenever I can.
What do you want readers to take away from your books?
I read to escape. I love romance and I enjoy laughter. My greatest hope is that readers are entertained and finish my books with a smile on their face. If I’m able to bring a bit of laughter out along the way, even better!
Tell us a little about your writing process. Do you start with a plot or with characters?
I’m very much a panster. I generally start with a basic idea about where the story will go, and a good understanding of my main characters. I always know the beginning, middle and end of my story, and the rest tends to magically fall into place as I write. It’s always a discovery, and I’m often just as surprised by what happens as the readers are. My characters tend to be stubborn and don’t like to listen.
Where do you want to be in five years?
Ooooh, girl! I’d love to have a fat stack of books lining the shelves at Barnes and Noble! That would be the ultimate!
If you got the opportunity to cast famous actors in the lead roles, who would you choose?
Grins This is always a fun question. I definitely think I’d cast Lucy Hale as Martha. She’s the closest I’ve seen to what I picture in my head. Xan’s a toughie. I think I’d have to go with a clean shaven version of Joe Manganiello. He’s pretty darn smokin’!
If you were stranded on a desert island with only one book (not including any of your own) which book would you want to have with you?
AAACK! Just one! I have to choose?? You’re killing me, smalls! Sigh…okay, if forced to choose, right now I’d pick Karen Marie Moning’s Shadowfever. I LOVE me some Barrons!
What are you reading now?
Dark Tide Rising by Kristin Miller. It’s a dark, gritty romantic suspense. Good stuff!
Any advice for aspiring writers?
Keep plugging away. Write as much as you can, even if it’s only a few hundred words. You’ve heard the saying “practice makes perfect” right? The more you write the better you get. Oh, and get yourself a critique partner. It’s always helpful to have someone to bounce ideas off of, and someone who will tell you with complete honesty that the last scene you wrote sucks complete ass. That kind of help is invaluable.

Show Me The Love Blogfest
Today is a special day, and not just because it's Valentine's day. Today is special because not only am I participating in the Show Me The Love Blogfest, hosted by the fabulous Stephanie Haefner at The Writers Cocoon, but I also have an interview with Lisa Sanchez, a fantastic romance author. If you aren't familiar with her work (or even if you are), I encourage you to stop by HERE.
But...without further ado, I bring you the Show Me The Love Blogfest!
All you need to do to participate is answer the following questions:
1- What is the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for you?
This is a hard one for me because I believe romance is most clearly shown in the little things. In making me a cup of coffee in the morning when he's up before me. Of eating the dinner I cooked, even though I know full well I overcooked the chicken and burned the pasta. Then asking for seconds and telling me how much he enjoyed it. And picking a movie from Blockbuster that he thinks I want to see, instead of just the ones he wants. Don't get me wrong, the grand gestures are great. But it's the little things that give me the warm fuzzies inside.
2- What is your favorite love song?
I have to choose just one? I love More Than Words by Extreme, For The Longest Time by Billy Joel, and Don't go Breaking My Heart by Elton John and Kiki Dee, and To Be With You by Mr. Big.... But my all time favorite has to be The Way You Do The Things You Do by The Temptations. I adore that song.
3- Do you have a favorite romantic movie or book?
I have way too many favorite romantic books to name them here. I actually have a weekly section on my blog on Mondays dedicated to my favorite books, usually romance (except not this week because of the blogfest!). I'm actually not a huge fan of romantic comedy movies. I'm a bit bloodthirsty when it comes to movies. Give me a zombie or alien movie any day :)
4- Do you have any romantic plans for Valentine's Day this year?
I actually don't. I'm looking forward to a quiet evening at home. Maybe renting a movie and having a nice dinner at home.
5- What's your favorite romantic treat? (candy, chocolate, edible body paint, etc...)
Can't beat the chocolates on Valentine's Day. Although I've never tried edible body paint....hmmm that's something to consider....

I wanted to make a short post to inform you all about my activities the past few weeks. As you know, Arctic Winds was released a few weeks ago. Since then I've been on a whirlwind of interviews and guest blog posts. I've loved visiting everyone elses blogs but I fear it left me little time to take care of my own. But exciting news! I'm going to be working with a friend soon on my own website! Don't worry, I won't be abandoning my blog or my bloggy friends...just expanding.
