Release Day!!!!
Today is the day! Release day for my debut novella 'Arctic Winds'. Excuse me for a moment while I squeel and jump around a bit....
...
Okay, I'm back. This past week has been quite exciting! I got my first review for 'Arctic Winds' and it was good! For those who'd like to read it you can find more details HERE.
Today, I'm being interviewed over at Simply Sexy Stories so come on over and say hello! But if you can't make it, don't worry, I'll be visiting a couple other blogs this week and will be sure to let you know where I am.
Last but certainly not least (and not to sound too sappy), I'd like to thank all my blog friends and followers, new and old, for joining me on this journey and for being so supportive! You all rock!
Without further ado, heres the info for the book.
Arctic Winds, Alpine Woods Shifter Series Book 1
Nothing will stop a wolf once he's found his mate...
After her skulk abandonded her four years ago, Samantha knew she would never truly be wanted. When she accidentally stumbles into a wolf town and is asked by their permier to stay, she believes it's the novelty of an arctic fox motivating him. She knows she'll be on her own again once he tires of her.
Jason finds himself pulled to Samantha from the moment she faints in his arms. His wolf is calling to him, telling him he's found their mate and the heat he feels for Samantha is impossible to resist. But his little fox is loaded down with emotional baggage and doesn't believe she's worthy of love. Can he overcome her fears? Or will pack jealousies and the local foxes convince her she doesn't belong with him before he has a chance?

Arctic Winds Excerpt
Here's an excerpt from my upcoming novella, 'Arctic Winds' coming out this Monday, January 17th from Lyrical Press:
Samantha nervously wrung her hands. “Listen, I told you I wasn’t going to cause trouble, but if you don’t believe me, maybe I should just head out. I appreciate everything, and I’m feeling much better now…”
Samantha stopped talking as Jason backed her up against the side of her car. Towering over her, Jason drew her eyes to his. He had a wild, almost feral look in his eyes, and a wave of desire crashed through her. He gripped her hips as he pressed her against her car door with his body.
“I’m not worried you’re going to cause trouble,” he all but growled out.
Staring up into his eyes, altered from their mossy green color to a pale yellow that practically glowed, Samantha felt heat flood her core.
“Then what are you worried about?” Samantha whispered, gripping his forearms. He didn’t answer, but his gaze lowered to her lips and he growled again, low and deep. From her position, pushed up against the car by his hard chest, Samantha didn’t hear the rumble so much as she felt it reverberate against her. With the car behind her and the equally unyielding chest in front of her, Samantha felt an unfamiliar spike in her desire as she realized there was no escape. She didn’t want one. She had no thoughts of running away from this man.
Jason slowly lowered his head and molded his lips to hers. His kiss was softer than she expected, barely exerting any pressure.
She stared into beastly eyes and knew the animal was on a short leash. Wanting his wolf set free, she ran her hands up his arms and locked them behind his neck. Deliberately arching her body into his, she tried to make him snap. She wanted his untamed passion--and she got exactly what she asked for.
He pushed her harder against the car as his tongue thrust into her mouth. It was exhilarating, and she moaned, closing her eyes as she moved restlessly against him.
This kiss was unlike the careless assaults she’d previously experienced. Jason’s kisses felt like he was claiming her mouth as his own.
She freely gave him everything he demanded and more. Samantha massaged his tongue with hers and let the world drift away. Only the two of them existed in this new world. She felt a gentle pressure on her hips, and realizing he had lifted her, she wrapped her legs around his waist. His lower body held her up against her car, completely supporting her. Being in his arms, depending on his strength to keep her from falling, only turned Samantha on more. She deepened the kiss and felt his fangs begin to extend. He lifted his hands from her hips and pushed them up under her sweater to cup her small breasts. He circled her stiff nipples through her lace bra with his thumbs, causing her to moan deeply against his lips.
This was by far the most exhilarating experience she’d ever had, and she moved her body against him. She couldn’t get close enough. She wanted to feel his naked flesh against hers. Samantha didn’t know what miracle had made this strong, beautiful and giving man desire her, but she wanted him, now, before he changed his mind.

Exclusive Interview with Samantha and Jason
Well I'm very excited for this post. Today I've had the exclusive opportunity to interview Samantha and Jason, the stars of 'Arctic Winds'.
Me: Welcome to my blog, guys. I know you two are here trying to promote your upcoming book, please tell us a little bit about it.
Samantha: Well, 'Arctic Winds' is all about how we met and it follows the story from the first time we met up until a couple weeks ago. Jason grabs her hand and twines their fingers together as Samantha talks. She looks up and smiles at him before continuing. It wasn't the easiest journey but it all works out in the end. The story comes out January 17th so you'll just have to read the book to get the whole story.
Me:I know I'm excited. Jason, you've been quiet. Tell me a bit about when you first saw Samantha. Was it love at first site?
Jason: Uh, no. No I wouldn't say it was love at first site. I was drawn to her and I knew there was something different, something special about her. But I wouldn't call it love. I just knew I had to keep her around, and keep the other men away.
Samantha laughs and squeezes his hand.
Samantha: You should have seen him the first time one of the wolves in his pack hit on me.
Me: Mad was he?
Samantha: Something like that. Jason growls and I look at him startled. The smile on his face gives him away.
Me: Samantha, what did you think when you first met Jason?
Samantha: Don't eat me. Jason throws his head back, his loud laugh ringing out in the room. No, seriously, that was my first thought. Her musical laugh tinkles out. But after I realized he didn't want to hurt me, I just couldn't believe that someone like him could want me. He had a rough time overcoming my childhood fears of abandonment.
Me: And have you overcome her fears, Jason?
Jason pauses, staring at Samantha before turning to me and answering.
Jason: Mostly. We still have some work to do. Every now and then I catch her staring at me unsure. But Samantha knows how much I love her. The rest will come in time. Samantha is starting at her mate, the soft look clearly displaying her love.
Samantha: Of course I know how much you love me. Even if I didn't, you tell me all the time.
Me: Was there a lot of opposition within the pack when you took an arctic fox to mate?
Jason frowns, his eyes darkening in displeasure but Samantha puts her hand on his arm, stopping him from replying.
Samantha: We can't give away the whole book! You'll just have to read it to find out the details.
Me: Fair enough.
I would like to thank Samantha and Jason for granting me this exclusive interview. Their story 'Arctic Winds' will be released next Monday. They'll be around for the rest of the day if anyone has any questions for them. Just leave it in the comments.

Madly in Love Monday 1/10
Today is a special Monday. We are exactly one week away from the release of my novella, Arctic Winds. So, because we are so close to the release, this week (and next) is going to be full of fun stuff about the books. This Wednesday there will be a meet the characters where you'll get a look at Samantha and Jason, the heroine and Hero from the book, and on Friday I'm going to post a titillating excerpt. So be sure to stop by and join in on the fun!
But because it's Monday and because I really do love this feature, I'm putting up my last regular post (not about the novella) until after the release. Last week, Casey chose Ashes in the Wind, one of Kathleen E. Woodiwiss's books, as her weekly favorite. I almost laughed out loud since one of her books was next on my list for my Madly in Love feature. I thought about skipping it and coming back but decided to use it anyway.
I remember how enthralled I was the first time I picked up one of her books, and how I ran out as soon as I had finished to pick up another. She was on my auto-buy list for a long time but I'll admit I haven't read many of her latest novels as my interest drifted away from historicals for awhile. Without further ado I give you my Madly in Love Monday pick this week:
Petals on the River by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss was the first book of hers I'd ever read and remains one of my favorites, although I'd have a hard time narrowing it down to just one book of hers. In this novel, Shemaine is falsely arrested and sent to prison and eventually sold as an indentured servant across the ocean in America. This is a woman born to privilege but by a tragic twist of fate forced away from her intended fiancee and sold into slavery. But lucky her, she ends up in the home of Gage, a widower looking for someone to take care of his little boy. This story is a heartwarming tale about love and finding inner strength through each other.
Now it's your turn, What's your Madly in Love pick this week? And be sure to stop by Wednesday and Friday for fun posts about Arctic Winds!

Madly in Love in the New Year
Happy New Year Everyone! Later this week I'm going to have my New Year, new goals, post since today is Monday and it's time for another Madly in Love on Monday post. Today's post is going to be a bit shorter than normal. I picked up a cold somewhere and haven't been feeling great the past couple days so I'm taking it a bit easy. Anyway, onto today's pick. Today I have chosen a book that, I admit, I didn't care for the first time I read it. But something about it stuck with me, because despite knowing it wasn't my favorite, I found myself seeking out a used copy a few years ago and rereading it...and of course loving it. Without further ado, today's pick is:
"Warrior's Woman" by Johanna Lindsey. I started reading Johanna Lindsey when I was in high school and ate up everything she wrote. At the time, I was primarily reading historicals, which might explain why this book, which breaks from her norm and takes place in the future, never made it on my favorite list back then. But something about it stuck with me throughout the years. I kept getting glimpses of some of the scenes and the urge to reread the book took shape. So I went online and had a used copy sent to me. I couldn't put it down. The relationship between Tedra (the heroine) and Challen (the hero) is rife with tension and fighting, but Ms. Lindsey manages to do what many fail to achieve and the progression of love between the pair shines through. I understand exactly why Challen falls for Tedra and vice versa. So if you're looking for a space adventure with a throw back to historical womanizing warriors (in the best ways) then give this book a try.
